Our survival swim lessons are designed to build life-saving skills in a calm, respectful, and confidence-forward way.

Each child progresses at their own pace through one-on-one instruction focused on trust, consistency, and real-world water safety.

No rushing. Some positive pressure. A lot steady, meaningful progress.

Our Approach

At Hubbard Survival Swim School, we believe learning to swim should feel calm, respectful, and confidence-building, not rushed or fear-based.

Our approach prioritizes emotional safety alongside physical skills. We meet each child exactly where they are and guide them forward with patience, consistency, and trust.

Every child’s journey in the water looks different. Some progress quickly, others take more time- both are completely normal. What matters most is building skills that last and confidence that grows with them.

This is where real learning, and real magic, happens.

Small humans. Big adventures. Built on trust.

Our Approach: Positive Pressure

Survival swim lessons are built on positive pressure- a balance of calm expectations and compassionate support.

We believe children grow confidence by being gently guided through challenges, not rushed, forced, or rescued from effort. In our lessons, instructors remain steady and reassuring while helping children learn essential life-saving skills at a pace that supports both physical and emotional safety.

Your child may experience moments of frustration or hesitation, especially early on. This is a normal part of learning something new and important. Our instructors carefully support children through these moments so they can discover something powerful:

they are capable of doing hard things, and staying safe while doing them.

Positive pressure allows skills to come together naturally. As children learn to float, breathe, and recover independently, confidence follows- often in ways that feel almost magical.

This approach builds more than water safety.

It builds trust, resilience, and confidence that extends far beyond the pool.

That’s how we make magic happen in the water.

HOW OUR LESSONS ARE STRUCTURED

Survival Swim Lessons!

All lessons are private, one-on-one, and intentionally short to support focus and emotional regulation.

Lessons are held Monday–Thursday and are designed to build upon one another through consistent repetition and trust.

While every child’s timeline looks different, skills are introduced thoughtfully and reinforced over time.

Rollback to Float (Infants) 6 months-15 months

This foundational program introduces infants to breath control and the ability to roll independently to a back float.

Skills are taught gradually, with a strong emphasis on comfort, body awareness, and trust in the water. Lessons are always tailored to each child’s readiness and temperament.

  • One-on-one instruction
  • Skills practiced fully clothed
  • Lessons up to 10 minutes
  • Monday–Thursday
  • Most children complete this phase in 4 weeks

Swim Float Swim (Toddlers & Young Children) 15 months- 6 years old

This program builds on foundational skills by teaching children to swim independently, roll to a back float to breathe, and continue swimming.

As children grow in confidence and ability, problem-solving and safe exit skills are introduced when appropriate.

  • One-on-one instruction
  • Skills practiced fully clothed
  • Lessons up to 10 minutes
  • Monday-Thursday
  • Focus on independence, safety, and confidence
  • Progression varies by child but most children complete this phase in 6 weeks

Skills are layered intentionally- there is no rushing to the next step.

Refresher Lessons

Refresher lessons are designed for children who have previously completed survival swim training and need a tune-up as their bodies and abilities grow.

These short sessions help reinforce skills, rebuild confidence, and adjust technique as needed.

  • One-on-one instruction
  • Typically a short, focused session (2 weeks), Monday-Thursday
  • Ideal for returning families

Continuing Lessons

Continuing lessons are available for children who have completed survival swim training and would like to maintain skills or build additional swimming ability.

These lessons support confidence, endurance, and comfort in the water as children grow.

Continuing lessons may include stroke development, diving, or other age-appropriate skills. Your child is welcome to join 1x or 2x a week.

What to Know

Every child’s journey in the water is unique. Progress does not look the same for everyone, and that’s okay.

Our approach prioritizes emotional safety alongside physical skills. Some days will look big, others quieter- both are meaningful.

Consistency, patience, and trust are key parts of the process.
